The first stop is the Archway of Taroko Gorge, and that symbolizes the beginning of your amazing journey in Taroko National Park. From the archway entry to Tunnel of Nine Turns, this section of Central Cross-Island Highway winding through the steep marble cliffs and tunnels of the gorge will take your breath away. Then you will head to Shakadang Trail, known as “Mysterious Valley Trail”, is one of the most popular trails in Taroko National Park. This trail is built along the river cliff, so you can see the rock fault with the crystal-blue river running beside you. This river has cut through the marble over millions of years, and created the deep, narrow gorge.

After a long walk in Shakadang Trail, it’s time to fill your stomach with some local foods. Taroko Village Hotel, not only you can taste the authentic indigenous cuisine, but enjoy the unique design of the tribal house surrounding by mountains.

The next stop is the longest suspension footbridge in Taroko National Park—Buluowan Suspension Bridge. If you dare to walk across this 196-meter-long suspension footbridge, you can enjoy an amazing view of both sides of the valley and the river below.

Coming next is the trail of Swallow Grotto, where you will enjoy a stunning view of the cliffs reaching up to the sky. The potholes on the cliff surface were created by the ground water and the rapid stream of the river. In the past, they were the natural nesting location of swallows; hence it got the name Swallow Grotto.

After that, hold your breath, because this nature’s masterpiece will take your breath away. Tunnel of Nine Turns is considered the most scenic section of Taroko Gorge, which has reopened in 2019 after years of repair work. Along the trail, you can see the meander running through the deep and spectacular canyons from high above. Also, you can have a closer look at the faults and folds of the sheer marble cliffs, as well as the vegetation on the walls.

The tour is coming to an end, but before that, there’s one more stop that you need to see to completely experience the beauty of Taroko National Park. Remember the shrine you saw from a distance when you were at the archway? Time to see it from up close! Eternal Spring Shrine is a landmark and a memorial shrine located on the most picturesque of the Taroko Gorge with the beautiful view of mountain and waterfall, the shrine is built to commemorate the memory of 212 veterans who die while construct the highway from 1956-1960.

At the end of the tour, take an express ride on the train back to Taipei with your tour guide. Nothing’s better than relaxing on the comfortable train and watching the beautiful view on the way back! When you’re arrive Taipei Main Station, tour guide will escort you back to your hotel.
