Start with a visit to Shihlin Official Residence, the residence of the former president Chiang Kai-shek. It was restored in the year 1996 and has been open to the public since then. The next stop is Yangminshan National Park, the “back yard” of Taipei City, also the 3rd national park in Taiwan. The park is renowned for its volcanic landforms and the abundant natural vegetation. Yangmingshan National Park is also one of the first to witness the blooming of cherry blossom trees.
