Business travelers will be allowed to enter Taiwan from March 7

Over the past 2 years, the COVID-19 pandemic has been giving us so much trouble, and bringing global travel to a standstill.

The good news has finally come. The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that starting on March 7, 2022, Taiwan will allow foreign business travelers to enter Taiwan.

FAQ

Is Taiwan open for travel and tourism already?

For now, only business travelers are allowed to enter Taiwan for the purposes of business visits, investment, the fulfillment of contractual obligations, and employment.

Foreign business travelers must prepare related documentation before applying for a special entry permit at an overseas mission of Taiwan. Relevant information can be found on the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan).

Is mandatory quarantine still required for business travelers?

The mandatory quarantine is still required for arrivals, including the residents and business travelers. The quarantine period will be shortened from 14 days to 10 days from March 7.

Please note the day of arrival counts as Day 0; a 7-day self-health management will be required starting the 11th day. Arrivals will undergo a PCR test upon arrival (Day 0). Before the end of quarantine (the 10th day), arrivals will undergo another PCR test at a hospital or a location arranged or designated by the local government.

Does the visa exemption program apply?

Visa-exempt entry, visa on arrival, and e-visa services remain suspended.

Can we book quarantine hotels through Edison Tours?

Yes. We provide consultation services and reservations in quarantine hotels and non-quarantine hotels throughout the whole country. Other travel services such as private transfer to the airport can also be handled through our company.

Does Edison Tours provide optional tours for business travelers?

Yes. As of now, we have 15 regular sightseeing tours, 5 seasonal tours and 11 private tours available for reservation. There will be more to come soon.

We believe there will soon be more good news about the travel industry. According to CECC, the entry restrictions will be loosened in stages, and there is a high likelihood that Taiwan will be open to tourists during the second half of the year.

Stay tune with us and get updated the great news in the future.
