In this tour, you will learn about the art and history of Taiwanese architecture in Sanxia Qingshui Zushi Temple, and discover the magic of ceramics in Yingge Old Street and Yingge Ceramics Museum. After an artistic tour, treat yourself to some retail therapy at Gloria Outlets before the end of the tour!

    Meet your tour guide at the hotel lobby (downtown Taipei City)

    Meet your tour guide and driver, and then head off to the southwestern part of New Taipei City—Sanxia District and Yingge District, both are abundant in historical & cultural resources.

    Sanxia Qingshui Zushi Temple and Sanxia Old Street

    The first stop is Sanxia Qingshui Zushi Temple, a Taoist temple located in Sanxia Old Street. This temple was established in 1767 and dedicated to Qingshui Zushi (Master Qingshui). The most well-know about it is the incredible art deco of the building, from the front step, walls and columns are all sculpted by stone.

    Then, stroll along the arched red brick hallways in Sanxia Old Street. These arch-facades featuring Baroque-style were completed during the period under Japanese Rule, where you can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere. Do not miss an opportunity to try the famous local snack—Golden Bull Horns (Taiwanese Croissant)!

    Yingge Old Street (lunch on own arrangement)

    The next stop is Yingge Old Street, also known as Yingge Pottery Street. Yingge is regarded as the “Jingdezhen” in Taiwan, where the high-quality ceramic wares and artworks are made from.

    Pottery Making Experience (wheel throwing)

    Take a walk along the street and be amazed by the delicate artworks created by the local artists. Here you have an opportunity to experience pottery wheel throwing with your own hands!

    Yingge Ceramics Museum

    Of course, the famous Yingge Ceramics Museum should not be missed out! The permanent exhibition is divided into 5 sections with different themes. You will learn about the history and evolution of pottery making from prehistoric period to 21st century.

    Gloria Outlets

    Before the end of the tour, you will visit the biggest outdoor shopping outlet mall in Taoyuan. Gloria Outlets carries a variety of luxury goods and local restaurant chains to satisfy your shopping and dining needs.
